BCB allows ICL returnees to play domestic cricket

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided to allow Bangladeshi cricketers who had been under contract with the Indian Cricket League (ICL), to participate in domestic cricket.

The BCB Board of Directors in their Meeting on 09 May 2009 had decided to offer amnesty to the cricketers who would terminate their contract with the ICL by 15 June 2009. Subsequently, the 14 cricketers who were under contract with the ICL formally applied to the BCB within the deadline seeking permission to return to domestic cricket. They also submitted the necessary documents to confirm that they have terminated their contract with the ICL.

As they have fulfilled the requirements to avail the amnesty the BCB therefore recognizes that these players are eligible to participate in all forms of domestic cricket with effect from 16 June 2009.

The cricketers are: Habibul Bashar, Alok Kopali, Aftab Ahmed, Shahriar Nafees Ahmed, Nazim Uddin, Mohammed Rafique, Farhad Reza, Tapash Baisya, Mohammad Sharif, Dhiman Ghosh, Musharraf Hossain, Monjurul Islam, Mahbubul Karim, Golam Mabud.
