Sports ReporterFIFA women’s committee head Worawi Makudi promised he would take necessary steps to take Bangladesh’s women’s football ahead.

“As the chief of the FIFA women’s committee, I will do my best to take Bangladesh’s women’s football ahead and raise its standard,” Makudi said yesterday while he was talking to reporters during the SAFF Championship match between India and Maldives at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Makudi, also the president of Thailand Football Association, arrived in Dhaka yesterday on a courtesy call by the Bangla-desh Football Federation and is scheduled to leave today.

The Thai football boss also said that he would be helping Bangladesh to find a quality coach which is a key component towards the development of football.

Mukidi, also an executive member of Asian Football Confederation, congratulated BFF president Kazi Salahuddin for taking the initiatives to stage the SAFF Championship and hoped that the relationship between Bangladesh and Thai Land will prosper in future.

“Though it is very difficult to find out time amid my commitments, I promise that Thailand national team will visit Bangladesh in future,” he said when asked why Thai Land were not travelling to Bangladesh for long.

BFF president Salahuddin, vice president Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir and member Golam Rabbani Helal were present during the briefing.
